the edges of myself

the reason you’re different from

everyone else is because your

potential

is constantly in the process

of being realized.

 

there is an earnestness in your actions

that takes me back to childhood;

honeysuckle along a path of green

and a strawberry patch

that stretched the length

of a summer sunset.

 

And it cannot be denied

that as i walk along next to you–

i can’t help expanding–

you demand it of me–

will accept nothing less.

 

You overwhelm me–

I am overcome

when i acknowledge who you are to me–

when I take the time to stop

and take it all in,

 

exist

within the vast expanse

that we create together.
